A planning application has been put forward which, if approved, will see the dilapidated seafront pub demolished and replaced with a new restaurant and bar with nine apartments above.

2) Seaton residents condemn animal cruelty after seagull painted red and green

Several residents reported sightings of what they first believed to be an "exotic bird" but it was later revealed that a seagull had been painted in bright colours and the RSPCA have since been trying to capture the bird.

3) Woman rescued from stream in Axmouth

Fire engines from Seaton and Colyton were called to a woman stuck in a brook near the Ship Inn in Axmouth on Wednesday.

Seaton resident Alex Rowe and his brother-in-law Mike Milburn were gearing up for their 100-mile trek in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which they competed today (Sunday).

5) Local improvements to be made to South West Coast Path after fundraising appeal reaches £100,000

Locally, the improvements will include £14,000 worth of path improvements in the East Cliff and West Cliff areas around Branscombe. 

6) Police investigate after man exposes himself to teenage girl

Police are investigating after a man exposed himself to a teenage girl near the children's play park in Northleigh, near Colyton, last Sunday.

7) Six call-outs in three days for Beer Coastguards

Volunteers from Beer coastguards reported on a busy week with six callouts in three days, including extensive searches of the Sidmouth area for a missing person later found.

8) Rapid coronavirus testing available in Seaton

The mobile community lateral flow testing bus will be at the Seaton Tesco car park on Wednesdays from 3.30pm to 7pm and on Sundays from 9am to 12.30pm.

9) Police appeal for information after pedestrian killed on A303

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision on the A303, between South Petherton and Southfields, on Wednesday night.

10) Give Seals Space: Campaign launched as public urged not to disturb seals

Many seals have seen on East Devon beaches over the past few years, including in Seaton in recent weeks, but the public is urged to give the animals space.
