Axe Cliff Golf Club Seniors had their first inter club match last week when they hosted a team from Charminster, Dorset. It was a very friendly game and Axe Cliff sneaked a home win  4-2. Thevisitors were very complimentary about the Seaton course and the meal afterwards provided by Alex and his hard working team including our latest member, young Sophie Hellier, who is going to be a big asset to the team and club.

The last Senior's Medal was a difficult game in testing weather but not to Mike Chadwick who won Division 1 with a below par nett 67. Dave Morgan, in a rich vein of form at present, took second spot with a 70, leaving third place to vice-captain Richard Gibbons on 72.

Chris Walker and Malcolm Glass were caught in the rain in the last few holes but still managed first and second spots respectively with net 73s. John Purdy was in third place on 74. Mark Wisby was having a good game but had to leave early as he had an appointment with his dentist which he nearly forgot. Mind you had a good week being a volunteer for our lovely Wetlands so I took a picture of him on the sixth fairway overlooking the Wetlands so he could see how spectacular his efforts have been.

The club is eagerly awaiting the final of their Winter League knock-out between Stuart Mackie and captain Steve Thompson which is going to be quite a battle between two very good low handicap Seniors.

The last Stableford held by the men's section could not have been closer with the first three all scoring 37 points apiece. Thanks to countback top place went to Chris Glover, second to Mike Chadwick and third to Craig Trivett.
