The young Tigers went down by a single goal to the unbeaten Trojan's once again.

In a game of two halves, with Axe shooting up hill in the first half, Axe struggled to get up the pitch and were three goals down at the break. A few changes at half-time and putting two up-front, the Tigers went for broke down the hill playing some better football and pressing Trojan's back into their own half.

The comeback started from an excellent free-kick taken by Ruben Baulch into the area to find the brave Ollie Gabb who headed home superbly.

This galvanised the Tigers. Noa Bailey, on at half-time, then had a strong run down the wing, put in a superb cross where Flynn Hartford turned then got pushed over to win the team a penalty. Flynn himself stepped up to blast it past the keeper to bring the scoreline back to 3-2 with 10 minutes remaining.

On a big pitch legs started to tire but there was still time for some more action with Noa going close from a cross down the left which hit him from five yards out but went straight to the keeper.

In the dying minutes Flynn ran onto a through-pass round the keeper at an angle but he just couldn't find that last finishing touch as Axe went down fighting until the end.

Man-of-the-match went to the outstanding captain Ollie Gabb. He's been impressive all season, leading a team which have never given up. A credit to the club.

Big thanks to Billie-Jo Mcgovern for making the team breakfast before the match and all the volunteers who keep the club going behind the scenes, especially Rachel Burrough, Andy Hurford, Mark Burrough and more.
