Frome Town Under 18s 3, Axminster Town Under 18s 2

The Tigers traveled up to the impressive mini-stadium up at Frome where the pitch was in excellent condition in the Western Counties Under 18 floodlit league.

Axminster started with a young line up with three 15 year-olds in from the start. But it was Frome who took the lead when a cross came in from the right to a striker who turned and finished well.

This seemed to spur on the Tigers with a period of possession down the right resulting in Owen Dibling drilling home in a volley to make the scores even at 1-1.

With our tails up Axe continued to press forward. It was the hard working Ben Fox who held the ball up superbly before finding the speedy Dibling who raced through from wide to smash home the second .

The Tigers went in at half-time with a deserved lead. But going into the second half, now shooting slightly uphill, they struggled to get forward after putting in so much into the first half.

Max Churchill had to come off with a slight injury. Frome piled on the pressure and half way through the second half Axe conceded after failing to clear.

The last 15 minutes seemed to go on and on and Axe just couldn't manage to hold out for the draw with a looping cross-shot finding its way into the top corner to make it 3-2 to the home side.

Tigers did manage a late surge forward when Ben Fox's free-kick was tipped over the bar , But ultimately fitness showed in the second half. Man-of-the-match went to Owen Dibling for two excellent goals.
