Axminster Under 12s 4

Merriott Under 12s 1 (after extra-time)

The Tigers - playing in the quarter- final of the Yeovil High Holborne Cup - took the lead midway through the first half with a powerful shot from Alex Graves.

Into the second half, Merriott pushed and pressed hard and eventually found the net with a neat finish ten minutes from time which created a tense climax to the game, Ligy Alsedani in goal making a few keys saves and Ollie Wells clearing the ball off the line in the last few minutes.

The game went into extra-time and allowed the Tigers to regroup and put the pressure back onto the opposition.

Alex Graves scooted from a free-kick a good 25 yards out on the angle powering it in, to give the Togers a 2-1 lead.

With sprits high, Theo Dibling eventually got a goal with a well-taken finish to make it 3-1 and to finish it off the impressive Finn rounded off the scoring with a fine shot to put the game to bed.

Man-of-the match went to Alex Graves, with the centre back pairing of Jake McManus and Ollie Gabb a close second.

Once again thanks to Mark Burrough who expertly refereed the game and Daniel Alan Beer for running the line.
