Axminster Town's bid to improve on a sixth place in the South West Peninsular Premier East division remained on course last night (Tuesday) with a with a 3-1 victory over Cullompton Rangers at Tiger Way.

The two Jamies - Price and Short (2) - got among the goals and the win keeps the Tigers in sixth place in the Premier East division, the position where they finished last year in their most successful ever season.

Manager Dan Prettejohn challenged his squad go one better this season and despite a few disappointing results they are keeping pace with those above them in the table.

Axe have 25 points from 14 games and with the two sides below them, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot Spurs, having games in hand, the Tigers need to continue their winning mentality.

On Saturday they are away to East Devon neighbours Sidmouth Town who are in tenth place in the table followed by another away trip to second placed Dartmouth on October 29.
