After last season being cut short and this season featuring a delayed start due to COVID-19, Seaton Ladies and their opponents Bradninch were raring to start with team numbers of 16 and 15.
Bradninch kicked-off and both teams got stuck into the game with the match starting off evenly. Seaton had a shot on goal which hit the bar and Bradninch managed to clear it off their goal line.
After 20 minutes of play the first goal came from Seaton's Lara Spiers. Lara quickly followed up with another goal to make 2-0.
The game was predominately being played on the middle of the park until Seaton managed to score another goal from Meg Griffiths.
Lara was looking for her hat-trick and had a shot on goal which deflected off Bradninch player and landed in the back of the net.
Meg Griffiths was also putting the pressure on Bradninch defenders, scoring another goal, which saw the first half finish at 5-0 to Seaton.
Both teams took the opportunity to take on much needed fluids with the hot weather.
Heading into the second half both teams started off well but Seaton continued to dominate with Lara scoring her third to complete her hat-trick.
Captain Lucy Paull played a through ball into striker Georgie Lamprill who collided with the opposition goalkeeper and defender, both defender and goalkeeper got caught leaving Georgie free to calmly place the ball in the back of the net.
Meg Griffiths also looking for her hat-trick successfully scored her third of the day.
Bradninch continued to dig deep but were unfortunate to give away a penalty with a handball in the box. Lucy stepped up and managed to successfully convert the penalty.
More bad luck came for Bradninch when a strike from Meg Griffiths was deflected off a defender into the back of the net for another own goal.
Both teams were feeling the heat and inevitably tempo of the game slowed down allowing Seaton to use the width of the pitch. Georgie Hughes ran down the wing and provided a lovely cross for Meg to put into the back of the net.
Bradninch got the ball and played it up to their striker with a shot on goal, Seaton goalkeeper manage to save the shot maintaining the clean sheet which both goalkeeper and defenders had worked hard all game to keep.
With our striker being subbed with a few minutes to spare, Hannah Warren took up this position and was determined to get a goal. With an assist from Grace Cottam she managed to put the ball in the back of the net, finishing the game on 12-0.
