LYME Regis 1st team travelled to Exeter University 2nds determined to put behind them the previous week's 4-1 defeat -  but yet again, after taking the lead, they ran out of steam in the second half and were beaten 3-1.

The Seasiders started well and took an early lead when Ben Turner powered a header towards goal which ricochet off Joe bond and went in to make it 1-0 to the students.

Lyme continued to press, with a Rikki Sergeant header being cleared off the line, and continued to look likely to extend the lead from every set piece.  Brad Rowe fired a good chance wide when he should have squared to the unmarked Bond.

Despite the pressure, it remained 1-0 at half time. The second half was a different matter altogether with Uni dominating the ball. Despite this, Lyme still looked dangerous from set pieces and  were very solid at the back.

It wasn't until the 70th minute when Lyme were pegged Lyme back as Uni got away down the left flank leaving their  striker to scuff home the equaliser.

Uni pressed with new found confidence and took the lead minutes later from close range and then added a third moments before the end of the game.

Lyme again will be scratching their heads as to how they have looked so comfortable for long periods yet managed to capitulate late in the game.

The Seasiders have now lost four of their nine games and are lying in sixth place in the Devon and Exeter Premier division, 12 points adrift from the top three sides. This coming Saturday they have a break from league fixtures as they travel to Corfe Castle in the first round of the Dorset Senior Trophy.
