Lyme Regis Bowling Club members are back in action, albeit with some restrictions.
So far the club as managed managed three friendlies against Axminster, Severalls and Topsham. The first two games were played with number restrictions, but the game at Topsham was played with a full compliment. Unfortunately, the game against South Petherton was called off due to the inclement May weather.
Lyme Ladies have started their league campaign although, the men don't kick off until the end of June. The ladies' first match against Greenhill was abandoned after four ends due to monsoon conditions.
There will be no promotion or relegation in the leagues this season, prompted by the restrictions imposed and changed format.
The club night on Wednesday evenings is proving very popular with members, played as an Aussie Pairs 'fun' league. With many new members this season, this is an ideal opportunity for newer bowlers to hone their skills without the pressure of competing in county leagues.
The club is still open to welcome anyone who fancies giving the game a try. New members will receive free tuition and beginner's discount should they decide to join. All details can be found on the club's website.
