Axminster Under 11s, in a cup match, were drawn against Divison One side West Exe. However, this did not deter the young Tigers and they proved they could play against a team two leagues higher than them.

The Tigers came out quickly, listening to the coaches before kick off who encouraged them to not allow West Exe time to turn and run with the ball. Ten minutes in the boys did exactly as they were asked, pressing well and fighting for the ball, creating some good chances with Fred L getting one in the West Exe net, only to disallowed for off side.

The game turned and West Exe applied pressure, The Axe players allowing them to play their game, two quick goals conceded. Unfortunately, the boys went into the second half 4-0 down.

At half-time, the coaches discussed timings, tight marking, getting to the ball first and trying to play a wide game resulting in a total transformation from the first half, the boys fighting for the ball, passing using the wings, using Marco on the left and looking for strikers, Fred and Louis. centre-mid, Arthur, came off with an injury and with Charlie moving into this spot he started to play some lovely through passes giving Axe some great chances.

This second half was game on, the Tigers attacking and playing very well. Coby was doing an execellent job at centre back, his pace keeping the West Exe striker out of the game. A long range shot from Sidney and a fumble from their keeper got Axe a well deserved goal.

Man-of-the match went to Coby, although all the boys deserved praise as they played their hearts out.
