Axminster Town's good run of form continued on Saturday with a convincing 4-0 victory over South West Peninsular Premier East basement boys Stoke Gabriel and Trbay Police.

The victory sees them in eighth place in the table, with eight wins from their 15 games, four draws and three defeats.

Axminster's goals came from Sam Winslade, Jamie Price and Charlie Wilson, with Price getting the man-of-the-match award.

The Tigers will be in action again tomorrow night (Tuesday) when they travel to Elburton Villa in the Devon St Luke's Cup.

Elburton Villa, who are in 17th place in the Premier East table, will be Axminster's opponents again on Saturday at the Haye Road ground, Plymouth.

Statistics from the South West Peninsular League reveal that Axminster's average home crowd in their first seven home games was 102, their highest attendance being 152.

Axminster Reserves are experiencing an up and down season, having won three of their first nine games. When at full strength, the Tigers are capable of beating any side in the league but they were well understrength on Saturday when they were comprehensively beaten 4-0 at neighbours Colyton, leaving them in seventh position in the Devon and Exeter Premier Division with 11 points.

On Friday, the Reserves are at home to Exeter University 2nd X1 (kick-off 7.30 pm).
