East Coker Under 12s 2,

Axminster Town Under 12s 3

The Tigers' last league game was against last week's opponents so we knew we would be in for a good game and so it proved.

Second placed placed Coker needed the win to go joint top of the league and they started brightly, going two goals up in the first half, Ligy Al-Sedani making some outstanding saves to keep Axe in the game.

Forgetting the first, The Tigers made some changes and came out with their usual fighting spirit, tackling and working hard, which caused the home team all sorts of problems.

Ruben Baluch rifled in a screamer from 20 yards into the top corner, falling over in the process asking "did it go in" while face planting the floor! This gave the team the belief and they pressed hard, scoring again with some good play through midfield into Theo Dibling, who played in Finley Jenkin to get the equaliser,

The game went into the final two minutes with half chances going amiss, but it was hard working captain fantastic Flynn Hartford who wiggled his way though the defence to shoot/cross towards goal, somehow finding its way via a deflection into the net for 3-2.

This was another solid performance by the young Tigers who finish runners-up in their first season in the league.

The man-of-the-match was awarded to Ruben Baluch for his all-round performance going forward, but mainly for his defensive display.

Notably good performances also from Isaac Poole and keeper Ligy Al-sedani is very much worth a mention.

Before the match the players had a minute silence for Jordan Banks who died after being was struck by lightning in Blackpool.
