Axminster Town Place have won a place in the semi-final of the Devon Senior Cup and beating Bow 7-1 at Tiger Way last evening.

The draw for the semi-final is being drawn today.

In their last Devon and Exeter League Division Two East match away to Exeter United, the Tigers' second string banged in six goals without reply.

It was their last game of the COVID-hit season which they have led since the reset division started again after lockdown.

But they could well be pipped at the post by Ottery St Mary 2nds who are trailing by five points but have two games to play - away to Exeter United on Saturday (May 22) and at home to Millwey Rise the following weeks.

So Axminster's close neighbours could do the Tigers a real favour is they can sneak a win at Ottery.

Rise are currently sitting in fourth place and also have to meet Cranbrook, third in the table, at home this Saturday.

Ottery St Mary 1st have been promoted to the South West Peninsular Premier East Division which means that Axminster will now have three local derbies - Sidmouth Town, Honiton and Ottery - all of which should attract big home crowds.
