Uplyme 1sts kept their 100 per cent home record intact with a solid 3-0 against Exeter Utd.

Fin Mclean returned into midfield and, together with James Souter and new young signing Jack Holmwood, gaining control over a talented away side.

Going into half-time goalless, Uplyme felt confident they could get the win with more attacking out wide, and so it proved with two goals from mercurial Marcus Symonds, with Jamie Gunstone finishing off a flowing move and sealing all three points.

Manager Steve Gillan was delighted. "We had some players back, and our new signings also gave us quality options through the middle and up front, but it was our back four that provided great defence on which we could build. Conor Newns and Connor Tate worked so well together to nullify a very strong and agile centre forward."
