The Last time out against Carry Axminster Under 14s got an away draw after being bombarded by long balls with which the young Tigers struggled. So they knew what to expect this time round.

The visitors adopted the same tactics, long balk after long ball, but the strong Axminster back-line stood firm to head clear and limiting chances to few and far between. Special mention must go to the defensive four of George Manning, Isaac Poole, Flynn Hartford and Ollie Gabb at the back.

It was the impressive Alex Dixon who opened the scoring. After a quick turn of pace he beat his man to slide the ball home. Dixon turned creator when he slid in Theo Dibling, who drove the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

Carry then bombarded the Tigers with more long balls and had a few shots from distance but didn't trouble Max in goal.

The second half began the same, soaking up long ball and hitting them on the counter attack. Alex Dixon scored the goal of the game with a quality curling effort into the top corner from 20 yards out on the angle.

Carry hit back after waiting for the refs whistle, which didn't come we then switched off and let in a sloppy goal to make it 3-1. But it was that man again, Dixon who grabbed his hat-trick when he was slid through by Ruben Baulch and then beat the keeper with a neat finish.

Not a great deal of football played but a battling performance against physical, direct opponents. Man-of-the-match was shared by Alex Dixon and Ruben Baulch.

Also a big well done to Tony Wenn's Panthers winning 1-0 against Bruton Under 14s , Luca scoring the goal Luca after quick thinking from man-of-the- match Ronnie Wenn. Both teams are sitting second in their respective league tables.
