This local derby had lots of drama - goals and excitement for all. Chard, shooting downhill first half, had the advantage but it was even-stevens in the first 20 minutes.

With keeper Dylan White in inspired form, making a couple of cracking saves to keep the Tigers in the match as Chard put pressure on.

The opening goal was very unlucky as the Chard winger crossed the ball in to see it sail right into the top corner . With 37 mins played Axe grabbed the equaliser, Leon Hill's superb corner found the brave head of Mason Doble to bring to level the scores.

But in the last five minutes of the first half Axminster conceded two more soft goals to go in 3-1 disappointingly at the break.

After a stern talking to by coach Simon Harris the Tigers come out fighting in the second half. It was Jacob England with his first goal of the season, a beautiful half volley from 15 yards out right into the bottom corner which got us back int the game.

The last 20 mins Axe pushed for an equaliser with Ben Fox going close on more then one occasion. Unfortunately it didn't quite come.Man-of-the-match was the impressive Dylan White in goal.

The Tigers have a short break before their next league game on the November 10 at home to Wellington. They are looking for a friendly with any men's teams or any Under 18s in the meantime.
