C DIVISION EAST

Early league leaders Uplyme and Lyme Regis' poor batting of late has seen them drop to fifth place in the C Division East table having lost by nine wickets to sixth placed Ottery St Mary, their seventh defeat in 12 games.

Otter won the toss and put the visitors into bat. But Uplyme's innings never really got off the ground with opener Martin Langford top scoring on 38 and they were all out for 120 in 41 overs wit.h the last five batsmen contributing only 27 runs.

Matthew Jeacock was the Ottery bowler to do the most damage, finishing with figures of 4 for 22 off nine overs.

Ottery knocked off the required runs in 19 overs, losing just one wicket along the way. Opener George Mutter (52) and number three Jonathan Triner (38) saw they home safely.

Ottery St Mary 20 points; Uplyme and Lyme Regis 3 points.

Chardstock heading for relegation?

Chardstock, having won just two games all season, looked destined for relegation after losing by five wickets a rain affected match away to Feniton.

Chardstock won the toss and set a target of 200 with skipper Rob Hutchings top scoring on 57 with good support coming from openers Steve Allsopp (33) and Gary Larcombe (32). Matthew Davis (4-29 off nine overs) topped the home team's bowling figures.

Ottery's target was revised to 166 due to the weather and they avchieved this in 37 overs for the loss of five batters. No 4 Jack Tucker top scored on 76 which included 12 fours.

Feniton 20 points; Chardstock 7 points.
