The third East Devon Bash Twenty20 tournament is up and running, jointly sponsored by Nub News and LymeOnline.

Then six teams taking part are Ottery Super Beavers, Sidbury Moles, Uplyme Muffin Men, Seaton Pirates, Kilmington Kestrels and Upottery Swingers.

The first competition was won by Seaton Pirates. who beat Uplyme Muffin Men in the final. The Muffin men also made it to the final last year but were beaten by the Upottery Swingers.

The first matches were played on May 10th/11th.The Kestrels won their opening game at home to Upottery Swingers having set a target of 141 to chase. Top scorers were openersSam Cuconits (49) and Tom Olive (32). Upottery fell short by just three runs with 139 on board after they were given a good start by openers P.J. Kaal (22) and Ryan Pullman (45). Cuconits had the most success with the ball, finishing with figures of 3 for 18 of his four overs.

Uplyme Muffin Men also won their opening game against the Sidbury Moles. Uplyme set a target of 149 all out with Alfie Jacques top scoring on 55. In response, the Moles were all out for 89, Sam Farrow taking 3 for 7.

In Week Two the Muffin Men ran up a score of 139-5 against the Otters Super Beavers, with Ben Whittington hitting a match-winning 70 including five 6s. On reply, the Beavers were bowled out for 106, Sam O'Nyons top scoring on 28.

A glorious innings of 90 not out by the in-form Australian overseas player Sam Cuconits was the highlight of Kilmington Kestrels 142-2 against the Seaton Pirates. He was well supported by Matt Rockett (45) but the Pirates came back strongly with a reply of 148-4 with three overs to spare. Tristan Wakeley (39 not out) and Morgan (27) were the top scorers.

The Uplottery Swingers won the toss against Sidbury Moles and elected to bat, running up a challenging total of 165-7 (Matt Broom 45 and Roy Pullman 42). The Moles replied with 149-5 with Axe Paget (47) and Oliver Paget 34) putting up the most resistance.

Week Three fixtures (to be played on May 31st: Sidbury Moles v Seaton Pirates; Uplyme Muffin Men v Upottery Swingers; Ottery Super Beavers v Kilmington Kestrels.
