Saturday 11th June Kilmington 1st XI v Plympton 1st XI

Another game on John Lavender's wicket, another set of records broken. Visitors, Plympton, won the toss and chose to bat, racking up 482-3 off their 50 overs, the highest ever score on the ground.

Devon's Elliot Hamilton scored a magnificent 208 with 30 fours and five 6s, adding 280 for the second wicket with Justin Wubbeling (154)154 with 27 fours and one 6. Icing was added to the cake by Zimbabwean Test player, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, who smashed six 6s and six 4s in a 3 -ball 72. Ben Fuzzard picked up a couple of wickets for the home team.

Kilmington were really left chasing batting bonus points in their reply and they achieved the maximum thanks mainly to a 67-ball 84, with 14 4s and two 6s by Matt Rockett and 46, six 4s and two 6s from Oscar Oborn-Corby. Craig Donohue (3-44), Devon's Jonty Walliker (2-45) and Mutombodzi (2-19) shared the bulk of the wickets.

Unusually nowadays, Plympton, a team who will definitely be in the promotion shake up at the end of the season, stayed with us in the pub for a long time despite their journey home and proved to be very gracious victors. A good cricketing crowd.

This leaves Kilmington in seventh place in the table with 73 points.

Plympton 482-3 (50 overs) Elliot Hamilton 208, Justin Wubbeling 154, Tinotenda Mutombodzi 72, Ben Fuzzard 2-104 Kilmington 268 (44 overs) Matt Rockett 84, Oscar Oborn-Corby 46, Craig Donohue 3-44, Jonty Walliker 2-45, Tinotenda Mutombodzi 2-19.

Seaton all out for 92 chasing 417

A Division leaders Exmouth proved be far too strong for Seaton who were skittles out for just 90 when chasing 417.

The home team won the toss and elected to bat and gott off to a fantastic start with openers with Jason Niemand (192) and James Horner (125) putting on 292 for the first wicket. The only otherhomebatter to make any headway was No 4 Luke Davies with 47 not out.

Seaton bowlers toiled long and hard i the field with Joseph Berry finishing with the best figures of 2 for 65 off ten overs.

Seato's response never really got going with Max Johnson (35) the only one to show any real resistance and they were all back in the pavilion in 30 overs and just 92 runs on the board.
