A Division

Seaton failed to build on their previous week's good form when their batting let them down in a 10-wicket defeat at home to North Devon. The defeat leaves Seaton languishing second from bottom in the table.

North Devon won the toss and elected to field but none of the home batsmen got to grips with the bowling with exception of Damien Baxter who top scored with 35 in Seaton's score of 140 all out in 47 overs.

In reply, North Devon did not lose a wicket in reaching their winning score of 143 off 31 overs.

Seaton 2 points, North Devon 20 points.

B Division

Kilmington have lost the spot at the top of the table after losing by 63 at home to Bovey Tracey.

The visitors elected to bat and chose to bat, setting Kilmington a target of 172, having lost nine wickets in the process.

Pick of the Kilmington bowlers was Tom Gooding, finishing with figures of four for35 off eight overs. Tom Gooding (3 for 36 off seven) also bowled well.

Kilmington were skittled out for 109 runs with Matthew Pile (24) being the only batsman to really trouble the scorers.

Kilmington 6 points, Bovey Tracey 19 points.

D Division East

Uplyme and Lyme Regis returned to winning ways yesterday after three defeats in a row which saw them surrender their top spot in Division D East.

At home to Sidmouth 3rd X1, Uplyme won the toss and elected to bat, but they found runs hard to come by, losing wickets steadily without any of the batsmen amassing any significant totals in their innings of 149-8 off the 40 overs. Top scorers were Jerry Sims, who carried his bat for 27, and Charlie Moss (19).

Any hopes that Sidmouth had that 150 was an achievable reply were dashed by Tyler Wellman who in a blistering seven overs dismissed six of the visiting batsmen at a loss of only 24 runs.

The 18 points gained from this victory keeps Uplyme in third place in the table, but they have narrowed the gap with their closest opponents, North Devon, to five points but are still 21 points shy of the leaders, Alphington and Countess Wear.

Uplyme and Lyme Regis 18 points, Sidmouth 3rd X1 6 points.

North Devon 2nd X1 proved too strong for Chardstock who were beaten by nine wickets.

Chardstock lost the toss and were put into bat. They got 50 runs n the board before losing a wicket after a steady start from openers Gary Larcombe (39) and Rob Hutchings (28). Stuart Parris contributed 29 useful runs but they were all out for 149 with one wicket standing after 40 overs.

North Devon picked up maximum points in knocking off the required runs with openers Ed Yeo (73) and Jay Rothery (64) steering their side to victory.

North Devon 2nd X1 20 points, Chardstock 3 points.

E Division East

Axminster Town's season of woe continued when they were skittled out for just 44 in 18 overs at home to Topsham St James.

Axminster lost the toss and were put into bat with only two players reaching double figures- opener Andrew Guppy (10) and Mark Chaplin (19).

Topsham knocked off the required victory total of 45 in just seven overs, losing a single wicket on the way, bowled by Robin Ellis.

Axminster remain firmly entrenched at the bottom of the league with just 49 points.

F Division East

Seaton 2nd X1 were no match for Cullompton 2nds, losing by 93 runs.

Cullompton won the toss and elected to bat, posting 182-9 off 40 overs. Terry Welsh was Seaton's best bowler, returning figures of 4-36 off seven overs.

In reply, Seaton never really got going with the only opposition coming from Jamie Bond carrying his bat for 19.

G Division East

Kilmington 2ns X1 secured third place in the table with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory away to Woodbury and Newton St Cyres.

Kilmington won the toss and put the home team into bat. But none of their batsmen really goy to grips with Kilmington's six-man attack, the chief wicket-takers being Ralph Cook (3 for 29), Dean Willis (3 ror 31) and Sam Oliver(2 for 15), and they were all out for 112.

In reply, Kilmington knocked off the required runs for the lost of two wickets in 19 overs. Openers Dave Cook (52) and Hall Cook (39) gave them a good start and Alex Rockett contributed 16 useful runs.

Woodbury and Newton St Cyres 3 points, Kilmington 20 points.

H Division East

Axminster Town 2nd X1's fixture away to Filleigh was cancelled.
