Grizzly organisers announce date for 2022

Local News by Francesca Evans 17th May 2021

The Grizzly race will return to Seaton next year, organisers have announced, having been forced to cancel this year's event due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2022 Grizzly will take place on Sunday, March 6 and will include a full 20-mile race and a cub race of nine miles.

The Grizzly is a multi-terrain race across the glorious East Devon coastline and countryside, and the biggest event in the calendar of Axe Valley Runners.

Through organising the Grizzly, the club has been able to raise thousands of pounds for local, national and international charities with donations since 1988 totalling more than £425,000.

The event attracts runners from throughout the UK and across the world with places usually allocated via a ballot due to its popularity.

It is known as one of there toughness races on the circuit thanks to its challenging terrain, which includes steep climbs, muddy bogs and a stretch across Seaton's pebble beach.

Entries will open around September this year with the number of entries in each race to be confirmed.
