Crews from Seaton and Colyton were called to put out a tractor on fire in the Whitford area yesterday afternoon.

The tractor driver was said to have reacted quickly to the incident, getting straight out of the vehicle to move to safety and dialling 999.

The crews arrived on scene quickly, along with a water bowser from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, and found the tractor well alight.

Following Colyton's recent campaign to save the town's fire station, the farmer commented: "That's why we need our local, rural fire station."
