Ilchester Trojan's Under 12s 1

The last game of 2020 against unbeaten Ilchester was a great game.

Tigers started brightly with Flynn Hartford working hard to press the opponents into there own half which created a couple of half chances for himself which went narrowly wide.

Keeper Ligy Al-sedani had an great game and saved a stinging free-kick from flying in, keeping the score at 0-0 at the break.

The game opened up into the second half and Flynn's hard work paid off when he beat the defender then rounded the keeper to slot home.

Ilchester pushed forward in numbers and put pressure but the home defence which stood firm. A mix-up at the back allowed a soft goal to be conceded but Axe didn't let their heads drop.

Tigers pushed forward looking for the winner and a cracking midfield tackle by Ruben Baulch in the centre of the park got the ball forward for Ollie Gabb to round the keeper the put Axminster in front.

Tigers held firm until the end, winning a great contest 2-1. The whole team were superb with Ruben Baulch being named as man-of-the-match.

The youth section management team wish all layers, officials and parents a Happy Christmas.
