Uplyme 1sts made the long journey to Okehampton on the Easter weekend and returned with three very valuable points, keeping them in the hunt for second place in the Exeter and District League Division Six .
The 10 - 0 scoreline ddid not flatter the Swallows, who could have doubled the scoreline if they had taken more of their chances.
Okehampton, suffering from a loss of players mid-season, had no way of coping with the movement of Uplyme's attacking midfielders, including Cody Bowditch, Daley Holmes and Jonny Day.
Fin MClean, Day, Bowditch and Holmes all helped themselves two goals apiece and skipper Wes Holmes got onto the scoresheet, followed by Connor Tate grabbing his first-ever goal for the first team.
It all made manager Steve Gillan a happy man. He said: "Our good form continues. We came to play good football and we succeeded in that.
"The ref was complimentary on our style and quality. Cody and Daley's interplay, at times, was outstanding. Okehampton deserve lots of credit for turning out and working hard all game. I know they've had a tough few months after losing players.
"We have two games left and need a win to take us into second spot, which will be a fair reward in our first season in Devon and Exeter. But we've still got to do the business and there'll be no complacency whatsoever."
