Tough task as Tigers try to regain form

Axminster Town are scheduled to meet South West Peninsular Premier East high-flyers Brixham at Tiger Way on Saturday.

But with heavy rainfall this week, there is some doubt whether the game will go ahead.

Having gone seven games without a win, the Tigers' manager Dan Prettejohn will be anxious to see his side back in action, but they face one of the best sides in the division.

Axminster's mini-slump after making such a good start to the season sees them down in tenth place whilst Brixham occupy third spot behind leaders Okehampton Argyle and second placed Torpoint Athletic.

In his manager's notes in a recent programme, Prettejohn referred to the importance of his side showing more confidence, especially in front of goal.

The following week, Axminster will be at home to Elburton Villa, a side they have beaten twice this season, and this will provide the ideal fixture for the Tigers to find the scoring boots again.

Axminster Reserves returned to winning ways last week in the Devon and Exeter Premier division with a 2-1 home victory over Colyton.

On Saturday they have a tough fixture away to Beer Albion who sit in third place in the division. A large crowd is expected (kick-off 3pm).
