Welton Rovers Under 18s 9, Axminster Town Under 18s 1
This was Axminster Town's first ever under 18s league match - and a tough lesson was learned in the first half, going down by six goals.
Welton produced a high standard of play in what is a very competitive league .
The Tigers' young under 16s' keeper Dylan White started the game and was kept very busy making some good contributions to the game.
Three changes at half-time made a massive difference as Axminster competed and broke forward more often with Noah Alsedani doing very well after coming on to shore up the back tree.
Axe got a goal and restored some believe in their play after the impressive Jacob England cleverly clipped a ball over the top for Owen Dibling, on at half time, to race through and beat the keeper.
Matt Frewin also came on for the second half and filled the holding midfield role very well which helped the defenders out massively. Man of the match was captain Finn Graysmark.
Axminster's first home game is against Wells City on Thursday, September 22 (kick-off 7.30pm).
