After nine games without a victory, Axminster Town returned to winning ways on Saturday.

In a hard-fought tussle at Newton Abbot Spurs, the Tigers returned home with three valuable points to see them move two places up the South West Peninsular Premier division to eighth spot and with games in hand on four teams above them in the table.

With Newton Abbot Spurs occupying fourth place, Axminster had to work their socks off to win the game, their goal coming in the 46th minute with a good strike from Oscar Latis.

This coming Saturday the Tigers travel to Bovey Tracey who sit five places below them in the Premier division.

Axminster Reserves were without a fixture last weekend but on Saturday they are away to fourth placed Kenstibeare in the Devon and Exeter Premier division.
