A single goal was enough to see Axminster Town return to the top six in the South West Peninsular Premier East Division on Saturday.

The 1-0 win over Dartmouth came courtesy of top scorer Craig Veal with a brilliant assist from Charlie Wilson. Veal now has 14 goals to his credit this season, putting him among the top scorers in the league.

Man-of-the-match went to Sam Sheldrake.

The Tigers' next game is on Saturday at home to Teignmouth AFC, who are sitting one place below Axminster in the table, trailing by three points but with two games in hand. So. to stay in the top six, three points are essential.

*In their last home game of the season Axminster Under 18s were beaten 5-1 against Welton Rovers. However, they showed a much improved performance from when the twonsides met at the beginning of the season.

There was little between the two sides in the first half, the Tigers going in at half-time trailing 1-0. But. they could not keep up the intensity in the second half and conceded a few late goals from mistakes. Man-of-the-match went. to Frederick Bennett.

The Under 18s next game is on Thursday away to basement battlers Wellington Town.
