Axminster Town manager was a bit concerned when his Reserve side were given two games in three days after the long lockdown period.

But he believes it actually did them a favour. The Tigers second string struggled in their first game back in the Devon and Exeter League Division Two East with a 2-2 draw at neighbours Millwey Rise on Easter Saturday.

Two days later - on Easter Monday - the Reserves looked a little sharper with a 3-0 win at Feniton but they weren't scintillating.

On Saturday, however, they really found their shooting boots with an emphatic 9-1 win ver East Budleigh 2nds.

Prettejohn told Nub News Sport: "Actually playing two games in such a short time has done us good. We played some great foottball."

It was certainly a special day for right back Dan Scadden who celebrated his 25th birthday with a hat-trick and he also won on the Grand National.

Charlie Wilson also grabbed himself a hat-trick with Lewis Waldy, Mark Tucker and Andrews all getting on the scoresheet.

This victory puts the Tigers well on top of the Division Two East table with 29 points from ten games, followed by Ottery St Mary on 13 points from six and Millwey Rise (nine from 11).

On Saturday, Axminster Reserves are at home to Pinhoe (kick-off time to be announced due to the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral).
