Axminster Town's good form continued last evening with a comfortable 2-0 victory over neighbours Honiton Town, played under the Hippos' new floodlights.

Both goals came from the Tigers' top scorer's Craig Veal whose tally of 17 for the season puts him among the top scorers in the South West Peninsular League Premier East division.

The victory narrowed the gap between Axminster in sixth place and the side above them, Newton Abbot Spurs, who have a two-point advantage but the Tigers have a game in hand.

On Saturday Axe have the chance to strengthen their position with a home game against Holsworthy, who are second from the bottom in the table (kick-off 3pm).
