Axminster Town return to South West Peninsular League football tomorrow with a home fixture against Torpoint who sit in second place in the Premier division (kick-off 3pm).

The Tigers were last in action on January 3 when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Liskeard in the Walter Parsons Cup.

Manager Dan Prettejohn will be looking for a good performance against the high-flying Torpoint side, especially as they will be battling it out against Exeter City in the quarter finals of the St Luke's on Wednesday of next week (January 26).

No one will be more keen to impress than Axminster's Josh Wadham who was a first year pro at City in the 2012-13 season and actually made his debut for the Grecians in the St Luke's Bowl against Willand Rovers.

Josh, who has impressed in his first season at Tiger Way, was part of the Exeter City Centre of Excellence from under 9s level up to under 18s.

He later went out on loan and ended up signing for Taunton Town and has also spent spells with Tiverton, Bideford, Willand, Street and Wellington.

It says much for Axminster's ambition that they have been able to sign a player of Wadham's pedigree.

Player of the season Jamie Price won the St Luke's Bowl in 2007 whilst playing for Tiverton and another Tiger, Jamie Short, was also in the same Tivvy side that day.

Tomorrow's game against Torpoint is sponsors' day at Tiger Way with those who have supported the club this season being given free entry and a buffet at half-time.

Club ambassador Ray Self said: "We have had wonderful support from local businesses so far this season and we wanted to express our thanks in a tangible fashion."

Axminster Town Reserves, who are without a league fixture tomorrow, secured three crucial points last weekend in a 3-2 win over Dawlish, courtesy of a hat-trick by man-of-the-match Sam Winslade.

The Reserves will next be in action at home to Newtown 2nds in the East Devon Senior Cup on Saturday, January 29 (kick-off 1.45pm).
