After impressing with a run of victories earlier in the season, Axminster Town have gone six games without a win and have dropped to tenth place in the South West Peninsular Premier East division.

This afternoon (Saturday) the Tigers suffered another defeat, losing 3-0 to top of the table Okehampton Argyle before a crowd of around 75.

Axminster were losing 2-0 at half-time but had three players sin-binned and were outplayed in all departments.

With ten wins and eight draws to their credit, however, only four points separate the three clubs above them so a return to form could still see them jump a few places and retain a place in the top half of the 20-club league.

Other local results in today's Premier East division included: Elburton Villa 1, Honiton Town 2; Elmore AFC 5, Ottery St Mary 0; Sidmouth 0, Holesworthy 0.

In the Devon and Exeter League Premier division Axminster Reserves lost 4-0 to Dawlish United and have slumped to tenth place in the table.

In other Devon and Exeter Premier results, Beer Albion maintained their pressure at the top with a 2-1 victory over Okehampton Argyle 2nds and Colyton drew 3-3 with University of Exeter 2nds.

In Division Three Seaton Town lost 4-2 at Feniton.
