Axminster Town have now gone eight games without a win after a 1-1 draw yesterday (Saturday) at home to Elburton Villa. The point keeps them in tenth place in the South West Peninsular League Premier East division but the Tigers have games in hand on the teams above them which will open up opportunities to climb the table in the coming weeks.
Axminster travel to East Devon competitors Sidmouth Town on Tuesday evening where three points will be within their capabilities with the Vikings struggling at the foot of the table with only five wins from their 30 games.
Next Saturday the Tigers face tougher opposition with an away trip to Newton Abbott Spurs who are fourth in the table.
Lyme Regis exited the East Devon Senior Cup in a 2-1 defeat at Devon and Exeter Premier leader Lapford in a game that was ruined by near gale-force winds.
