Storm Eunice wipes out local football

The tail-end of Storm Eunice virtually wiped out the local football programme this afternoon (Saturday).

Axminster Town's match against Plymouth Marjon in the South West Peninsular Premier East division was postponed, as was Axminster Reserves' Devon and Exeter Premier game against Elmore.

The only game played in the South West Peninsular Premier East division was Torrington AFC's 2-1 victory over Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police, Axminster's next opponents.

In the Devon and Exeter Premier division the only game played was Kentisbeare's 2-0 win over Dawlish United, a victory which put them on equal points with third placed Beer Albion.

Beer Reserves' fixture with Alphington 3rds did go ahead with the Fishermen'ssecond string winning 3-2 with goals from Hale, Richardson and Best.

The top-of-the-table clash between Charmouth and Drimpton in Division Two of the Perry Street League. Although the Robins were 2-1 up at hard-time, they lost 5-2 which gives Drmipton an eight point lead, although Charmouth have a game in hand.
