AXMINSTER Town produced one of their best performances of the season, beating St Blazey from the South West Peninsular Premier West division to win a place in the next round of the Walter C Parsons Cup.
Goals from Jamie Short and Craig Veal gave the Tigers a 2-1 victory with James Richards getting the man-of-the-match award. The game was sponsored by the regular supporters at Tiger Way who clubbed together and was presented by head groundsman Jamie Barefoot.
Axminster's next fixture is on Saturday, December 10 when they travel to Torrington. Axminster stay in fifth place in the table with Torrington sitting in 13th position with just six wins from their 20 fixtures.
Axminster have recently signed Will Pennick from Elmore.
So far this season the Tigers have attracted an average of 97 spectators to their home games, the highest for the season being 149. Bridport, who are second from bottom in the Premier East Division, have the most spectators with an average of 132 and the highest being 182. The Tigers are the ninth best support side in the Premier Eat Division.
