Millwey Rise Reserves got off to a poor start away to Newton St Cyres.

Imran Chowdhury passed back to Terry Male who missed the ball completely, gifting a 1-0 lead to the home side in under three minutes.

Cyres then doubled their lead when a lucky bounce ended up at the feet of their striker who fired it into the bottom corner.

Millwey started started to get a grip on the game but couldn't get the final pass right and they were made to pay again with the third goal being a bit dubious. Rise claimed there was a handball and a high-foot in the build- up, plus the linesman gave a goal-kick, but the referee ruled that its was corner from which Newton Cyres made 3-0.

Jack Bennett hit the crossbar and the post before finally getting a goal back before half-time and Rise went in to the break 3-1 down but looking a better side.

Second half it was more the same under the cosh with Cyres scoring four more goals with no reply.

Man-of-the match for Millwey was Ben Webb. All their players performed well and dug deep - but it just wasn't their day again.
