Good start to the season for Colyton

Colyton have made an encouraging start to the new season in the Devon and Exeter League Premier division.

They kicked off with am impressive 3-1 victory over neighbours Lyme Regis with their goals coming from man-of-the-match Billy Knox, William Sydenham and Charlie Bye.

This was followed by a closely fought 3-2 defeat against division leaders Crediton United 2nds, Both Colyton goals came from Callum Somers.

On Saturday, Colyton secured second place in the table with a 6-1 victory over Ottery St Mary 2nds. On target for the Tanners were Callum Somers (2), Jake Collier, Keiron Quigley, Charlie Bye and Matthew Hancock.

Colyton 2nds started the season with a 4-0 defeat at home to Uplyme 1sts in Division Four.

In their second game the Reserves lost 4-2 to Sidmouth 3rds with Kian Bedwell and Archie Know getting their goals.

Their first win of the season came on Saturday, a 6-1 victory over Cheriton Fitzpaine 1sts. Kian Bedwell (2), Archie Close, Corbin Cox and Matthew Young were the goalscorer.
