Axminster Reserves resume their 2020-21 season following the easing of lockdown on Saturday, April 3rd with an away match against Devon and Exeter League Division Two East local rivals Millwey Rise (kick-off 3 pm).

When the league was suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Tigers' second string topped the division, having played seven games.

With the government having announced that recreational sport can start again from March 29th, the league management committee agreed to allow teams to drop out if they did not feel they could complete their matches by the end of May with being penalised.

In the end, 20 clubs – equating to 31 teams – decided not to continue playing and this has left just eight teams in Division Two East - Axminster, Milwey Rise, Feniton 2nds, East Budleigh 2nds, Exeter United, Pinhoe and Cranbrook..

Axminster Reserves' second game. will be on Easter Monday afternoon (kick-off 3 pm) away to Feniton 2nds.

Millwey's second match will be on Saturday, April 10th away to Feniton 2nds.

Unfortunately, spectators are not allowed in the ground until May 17th and clubhouses will remain close until outside hospitality can be served from April 12.

Beer Albion, Seaton Town and Colyton withdraw

East Devon teams Beer Albion, Seaton Town and Colyton have all withdrawn from completing their season in the Devon & Exeter League, but there is talk of a mini-league in East Devon to provide players with some football before next season.

The South West Peninsular League, in which Axminster Town 1st team play, have decided to to complete the season's fixtures and the Perry Street League have agreed likewise.
