UPLYME 1sts faced two games in four days with contrasting fortunes.

A near-full strength squad travelled to local neighbours Seaton 2nds and dominated from the first minute. Cody Bowditch shone with a hat-trick, including a great dink over the keeper after a super ball through from Daley Holmes.

Oscar Sladen and Ben Prosser got in on the goals, as well as Oli Alner after brilliant interplay from Bowditch and Fin McLean. A 6-0 win didn't flatter the visitors.

Saturday, however, saw the team missing ten of those in the Wednesday squad, due to the Bank Holiday weekend festival scene.

It was a day where everything went wrong, including injuries in the first 20 minutes to Ben Prosser and Alex Jones. with Uplyme trailing 1-0 at the break against Falcons FC.

The Swallows just didn't have the luck and two defensive mix-ups led to a 3 - 0 loss.

Manager Steve Gillan said: "The squad was threadbare today - so desperate that I even had to play the full 90 minutes! We didn't get a single break of fortune, but this happens. 3 - 0 didn't reflect our chances, but we couldnt get a firm grip of the game once we lost Ben and Alex so early."

Joint manager Pete Blandamer added: "We learned some valuable things and young Billy Gait looks very promising at Centre Back."
