LYME Regis 1st team's woes continued with yet another 4-3 defeat at Kentisbeare, one of the top four clubs in the Devon and Exeter League Premier Division.
Once again the Seasiders failed to hang onto a lead and then conceded late goals in their fifth league defeat of the season.
There was no lack of effort from Lyme who competed well for most of the game. But they just don't seem able to batten down the hatches towards the end of their games.
But there was some positive news for the Seasiders with the club's top scorer, Joe Bond, who suffered an ankle break in the summer, seems to be finding his shooting boots again, and scored two of the goals against Kentisbeare. The other one came from Harvey Brimicombe.
Centre-back Jake Sargent was sent off having received two yellow cards
After a decent pre-season with a number of new signings, there was talk of Lyme being among the front-runners in the Premier Division, but they are now lagging behind leaders Lapford by 18 points so it looks like the best they can hope for is a mid-table position. Ironically, they are one of the two teams to take points off Lapford this season.
Lyme have no fixture this coming weekend. They were due to meet Tipton in the East Devon Cup on Sunday, but the East Devon villagers have a Devon Cup match on Saturday.
Lyme Reserves, who lost 7-1 at home to Allendale in the Dorset Intermediate Cup, are away to Honiton Town 2nds on Saturday.
