After going nine games without a win, Axminster Town has returned to winning ways with two 1-0 victories on the bounce to boost confidence in the run-in to the end of the season.

On Saturday the Tigers put in a solid, battling performance away to Bovey Tracey, their goal coming in the 34th minute from centre-forward Oscar Latis.

The victory was all the more impressive considering Axminster were without six regular players, four of whom were suspended.

Man-of-the-match went to Jamie Short for his hard work in midfield.

The increase in confidence has come at a good time as Axminster are at home to South West Peninsular Premier high-flyers Brixham AFC at Tiger Way on Wednesday (kick-off 7.45 pm).

Three points against the third placed Brixham, who have won 21 of their 28 games this season, could see the Tigers move above Cullompton Rangers in seventh place.
