Rain washed out Saturday's Devon Cricket League programme with only two teams from the Axe Valley area getting in a few overs before the games were abandoned.

Seaton 1st X1 were at home to Cullompton in the A Division. The visitors won the toss and elected to field and Seaton were on 97 for 3 after 24 overs when the match was abandoned, giving each team seven league points.

Matthew Hewer carried his bat for 41 and the other runs came from Joel Seward (13), Josh Cann (12), Damien Baxter (6) and Daley Holmes (5 not out).

In D Division Clst Hydon travelled to Uplyme and Lyme Regis where the home team thought the wicket was playable, but Clyst did not agree and the game was cancelled.

The most cricket played was at Cullompton where the 3rd X1 were entertaining Axminster 2nd X1. The home team won the toss and elected to field with Axminster posting 185 runs off the allotted 40 overs.

Star batsmen for Axminster was opener Rollo Squire who scored 84. Mark Enticott (26) and Sam Beviss (17) made useful contributions.

Cullompton replied with 67 for 2 off ten overs before the game was abandoned. Sam Beviss got both wickets for Axminster.
