Devon Cricket league announce new funding opportunities for local clubs

The Tolchards Devon Cricket League have announced two new funding opportunities for member clubs.

The funding streams are the Emergency Relief Fund and the Discretionary Development Grant.

The Emergency Relief Fund

The Emergency Relief Fund is there to support clubs with an emergency, for example, the breakdown of a club mower that would otherwise prevent a game of cricket taking place. Other schemes that may be considered would be damage to club facilities or ground caused by vandalism. The maximum level of grant will be £500.

The Discretionary Development Grant

In the Discretionary Development Grant programme, the League have been partnered by the David Shepherd Cricket Trust. This funding stream is there to support clubs to become more sustainable through the development of junior and women's teams. Projects to support those with disabilities, online scoring and the education of young officials are all eligible for consideration.

The announcement was made at last night's, pre-season, Distribution Meeting to all member clubs. Both schemes are now live.

"We are delighted to be able to offer some tangible support to our member clubs," said League chairman Nick Rogers. "The support of the David Shepherd Cricket Trust is invaluable and means that grants of up to £350 may be available."

Full details of both schemes can be found on the League's Play-Cricket site, where application forms and key contacts are also available.
