Seaton fire brigade has been called up to help tackle a forest fire in Wareham, Dorset, which was sparked seven days ago.

The fire at Wareham Forest, affecting 100 hectares of heathland, was sparked on Monday, May 18th and is now believed to have been accidental, after multiple disposable barbecues, campfires and glass bottles were found in the area.

Seaton Tramway has bee operating for almost 50 years but is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic

SEATON Tramway is hosting a week-long virtual events to raise funds while the attraction is closed.

The tram line between Seaton and Colyton is currently closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will be launching a Tramathon Fundraising Appeal next month to help secure the future of the popular attraction and its industrial heritage.

Councillor Ben Ingham has stood down as leader of East Devon District Council

East Devon District Council will elect a new leader on Thursday, after Councillor Ben Ingham and his entire Cabinet stood down last week.

The mass resignation came after defections by eight members of the ruling Independent Group – seven to the Independent Progressive Group and one to the Democratic Alliance, a group formed of the East Devon Alliance, Liberal Democrats, the Green Party, and now three Independents.
