Planning permission was granted for the enhancement scheme in 2017

Seaton's seafront enhancement scheme may still go ahead in some form, as discussions with the district and county councils have opened up.

Having already spent more £50,000 on the project, Seaton Town Council announced in December it would no longer be taking forward its plans to redevelop the seafront, having hit a number of procedural and financial concerns.

Seaton resident Alex Rowe and his brother-in-law Mike Milburn will be challenging themselves to a 100-mile trek of the south coast to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

The pair will be walking from Mike's home in Bournemouth to Alex's in Seaton, covering 100 miles in a single stint - no stop over and carrying everything they need for the trek.
