More than 200,000 people in Devon have had their first COVID-19 vaccine, the highest figure in the South West, latest NHS England statistics show.

The figures, which provide the position as of January 31, show that there had been 217,344 vaccinations in the county, with 204,815 of them being the first dose.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) is thrilled to announce that it now has the funding it needs to do the works through the Seaton Hole Beach Management Plan (BMP) as long as the Environment Agency gives the final go-ahead.

Colyford Memorial Hall will put the grant towards a new floor

Organisations in Beer and Colyford are among five to benefit from more than £17,500 of funding from East Devon District Council's Community Buildings Fund.

The latest successful projects to benefit from the fund include Beer Albion Football Club, which will receive £3,500 to help pay for a viewing area for sports activities, community events and for private hire events; and Colyford Memorial Hall, which will receive £4,611.68 to help replace the floor, which is beyond further repair.

Orchard car park in Seaton will be among those to see evening charges introduced

Evening charges are to be introduced in car parks across East Devon.

East Devon District Council's Car Parking Task and Finish Forum this week backed plans to introduce an evening parking charge – initially a flat rate of just £1 – to make a proportionate contribution to management, enforcement and wear and tear costs associated with the car parks.
