A four-year-old boy has won a competition to name Devon and Cornwall Police's new tractor.

Youngster Reuben Mudge came up with 'Optimus Crime' for the farm vehicle, after a robot in the Transformers franchise named Optimus Prime.

The tractor's new name was officially announced at the Woofstock Festival at Powderham Castle on Saturday, June 17.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "After over 500 entries and a bumper crop of fantastic suggestions we have an official winner in the 'Name Our Tractor' competition, so please welcome to the team... Optimus Crime!

"Congratulations to Rueben Mudge who came up with the winning name."

The tractor has been loaned free of charge to the force by local agricultural machinery dealership Masons Kings.
