Seaton looking forward to weekend of coronation celebrations

A full weekend's programme of free event will be held in Seaton to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and the Queen Consort Camilla.

Celebrations will get underway on Friday, May 5 when a royal theme flower festival opens at St Gregory's Church, Seaton. The festival will be open 10am to 4pm everyday until Bank Holiday Monday, May 8 with refreshments available.

You can join the local community in watching the coronation ceremony itself on the morning of Saturday, May 6 from 10am at The Gateway Theatre in Seaton, which will be showing a live stream of events in London, with refreshments available from the bar/cafe.

Meanwhile, Seaton Primary School PTFA will be running a coronation T-shirt craft activity outside at Windsor Gardens from 10am to 1pm.

On Sunday, May 7, The Gateway will also be hosting a live stream of the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle in the afternoon/evening (time to be confirmed).

On Monday, May 8 Seaton will be taking part in the national Big Help Out – with communities encouraged to take part in volunteering events. A beach clean will be hosted by Surfers Against Sewage, meeting at Fisherman's Gap at 10am.

A Big Breakfast will be held at Colyford Memorial Hall on Bank Holiday Monday from 8am until 12noon, costing £8 for adults and £4 for under 12s - no need to book.

A Big Help Out Brunch will also be held at Colyton Town Hall on the Monday, from 10am to 12noon, serving bacon baps and bacon and egg baps with tea or coffee in aid of Seaton Hospice at Home.

Throughout the weekend, Seaton Tramway will be holding a Coronation Tram event, with All Day Explorer tickets with a high tea at Colyton Station available for £30. Tickets for the high tea only are also available for £15.

The commemorate the coronation, Seaton Town Council will also be gifting a packet of wildflower seeds to all Seaton children.
