Many in the Seaton and surrounding towns and villages were brought together to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla over the Bank Holiday weekend.

With early celebrations having been kicked off last weekend by Seaton Memory Cafe, this weekend residents came together for free community screenings of The Gateway Theatre and coronation concert at Windsor.

Seaton Primary School PTFA celebrated by hosting coronation T-shirt craft activities and St Gregory's Parish Church hosted a coronation theme flower festival throughout the weekend.

Staff and residents at The Seaton care home in Seaton enjoyed a street party with a buffet of British food and special dishes were prepared for those on a modified diet.

Care home manager Emma Seal enthused: "We played royal bingo and ate coronation quiche and Jubilee trifle. Our chef Anna prepared a wonderful buffet selection and for those residents on a modified diet, she took special care in the presentation, so that it looked just like the food everyone else was enjoying."

Residents also took part in the King's Big Help Out campaign on Bank Holiday Monday, with many turning out to support a beach litter pick despite the poor weather.

Meanwhile, a Big Breakfast was held at Colyford Memorial Hall and a Big Brunch in aid of Seaton Hospice @ Home was held at Colyton Town Hall, with both events well supported.

In Colyton, residents also celebrated with a party at the Peace Memorial playing field on Saturday night and a street party on Sunday. A street party was also held in the village of Beer.

Axe Valley Runners also took part in the celebrations, holding a coronation 10k run on Bank Holiday Monday, with 36 members taking part, starting in Colyford and finishing on Seaton seafront.

Matt Hewer was the first to finish with Deborah Whiston the first female runner.
