Colyton will still be hosting a switch-on of the Christmas lights, but the full Christmas Fayre will not be able to go ahead

The annual Colyton Christmas Fayre will be unable to go ahead in its full capacity this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the town will still be sparkling for the festive season.

The full fayre - which usually includes the town hall packed with stalls and entertainment outside - will not be able to go ahead as usual, but there will still be a socially-distanced switch on of the Christmas lights on Wednesday, December 2nd at 5.30pm.

St Andrew's Church will also still be holding its usual Candles in the Church display, and it is hoped that shops will be able to stay open late.

There are also plans for an outdoor Santa's grotto, along with some mulled wine and festive refreshments, with more details to be announced nearer the time.

It is hoped the full Christmas Fayre will be able to return "biggers and better" on December 1st 2021.
